Student Mobilization is an organization I got involved in starting my fall semester of freshman year. The reason I decided to pursue membership in this organization was to improve my leadership skills and learn more about my faith.

I went to a 9-week summer leadership and discipleship program (Kaleo) the summer before my sophomore year. It was that summer that I was able to learn what a college experience could look like with Christ at the center. When I got back to campus my sophomore year my lifestyle looked very different and I could confidently share the gospel with the people around me.

After my first summer at Kaleo I led a bible studies through this organization. I wanted to provide an open space for freshmen to be comfortable coming to. Through leading this bible study I was able to grow in my leadership and communication skills.

After my sophomore year I knew I needed to go back to Kaleo and lead some of the girls that I had held a bible study for all year. It was the summer before my junior year that I grew more than I ever have before. I led three girls for two months, I taught them how to grow in their leadership, character, and discipline. Due to this summer I am more patient, independent, and confident. I truly see what it takes to be a leader and to constantly be the person that is uplifting and positive.
